Finally, Lightroom CC was split into two different platforms in October 2017 and now buyers need to be careful enough for selection of Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic CC. With this shift to a paid platform, developers also added many cool features to this software tool. With time, Adobe shifted to the subscription model of Lightroom and then it was given a new name: Lightroom CC note that here CC stands for Creative Cloud.
